KD's 50th Birthday Party

Joanna and I had a great time at Kuldip's 50th party. Joanna got to rekindle some old friendships. That's the great thing about these parties, we get to See friends that we haven't seen for a long time. As you can see from these few photos, everyone had a great time. So our thanks to KD for having us. It was a real HOOT!!!

Frankie Foo and the Yo-Yo Smugglers

Joanna's brother Toby and his girlfriend Marla play in a SKA band called FRANKIE FOO & THE YO-YO SMUGGLERS. They play the last Friday of every month at Grossman's in Toronto on Spadina 2 blocks south of College St. This is very lively band and I can say without a doubt that you will have a great night out if you come see them play. They have quite a following and the place is always full. They go on around 10pm until closing. Toby is an amazing sax player and singer. Marla plays the trumpet and has a great voice. All the members of the band are very talented and they do a lot of original music too. So come on out some time and have a blast. Maybe we'll see you there!

Me & Justin Bunn

This is me an my guitar teacher Justin. He's off now on a cross Canada/USA tour with his band Hello Operator. He'll be back in about 7 weeks for a month and then off again for another tour. We wish them all success a safe journey.

Loyal AC/DC Fans

This is me with two of my best pals, Luke and his dad Paul. Not only are we fans but we have played some AC/DC tunes together on stage. You have to come out to the Pic some night and see our Family Jam Band. There is nothing like jammin' with your friends and family. It's always a fun time at the Pic-A-Deli and at the Moonshine Cafe.

Happy St Paddy's Day!!

Last night we celebrated St Paddy's day out at the Pic A Deli in Oakville to see one of our very favourite bands, Bare Rump, pictured above. Baby Oil was the opening act and they definitely got us all primed up for some old time rock and roll . More photos on the way!

Hi Ho Hi Ho it's off to Work I go

I work at the Toronto Transit Commission Transit Control Centre as a train controller. Pretty stressful at times, but it is also challenging and rewarding. I'm not really allowed to take photos of the Control Centre due to security shhhhh.

Kuldip Dhaliwal Turns 50!

Last night we went out to our friend Kuldip's 50th Birthday bash. It was a cowboy party so we got all dressed up and moseyed on down. Great night, lots of dancing and re-aquainting with old friends we hadn't seen in a while.

Oma

Oma aka Trudy aka Mum, the matriarch of the Hughes clan. This photo was taken at the Banknote at Bathurst and King, a recent favourite for suppers with the Alcorn family. More on them later!!

Hughes Family circa 1988

There have been quite a few additions since this creative family photo was taken in downtown Toronto by photographer and friend Jim Panou. In fact, Matt was the youngest of the 5 cousins here, there are now 8 more! Stay tuned for more oldies but goodies!

Owen

Owen is becoming a big hockey fan like his Dad Mike. Here's a nice shot of Owen with Yohanna. The top photos were taken at Yohanna and Mike's Christmas Dinner Party 2006.

Owen, the newest Member of the Clan

John is thrilled to be the proud grandfather of little Owen, seen here in his TTC sleepers!

Adam and his bass

When John's son Adam put down his hockey stick and picked up his bass there was no stopping him. Just like when he was on the ice, he went at it with passion and it shows! Here are a couple of pictures with his last band Final Vengeance.

John and His Girls

Here are John, Victoria and Yohanna at John's 50th Birthday Bash. The Pic A Deli was hopping that night! Below is a photo of the cake.
